Guidance For Parents Facing CPS Allegations

During her years with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Ms. Ortega developed a strong knowledge of its various divisions, including Child Protective Services. While her work was not directly related to CPS, she has nonetheless become very familiar with its resources, methods and investigative priorities. As such, other attorneys frequently refer clients to her when they are facing allegations of child abuse/neglect or other CPS issues.

A Lifelong Passion For Connecting With Others

As an only child, Ms. Ortega developed an ability to keep herself entertained. She would put on theater, music and dance shows in her backyard where neighbors came to enjoy the show; at least until the batteries in her beloved “boombox” could no longer hold on. Her love for theater and public speaking serves her well as an attorney as she advocates for her clients in court.

After completing her undergraduate degree in music, she went on to attend WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law School and graduated magna cum laude. She spent two years at a small firm in Grand Rapids, and now has her own solo practice in Holland.
